Washi not washing the morning away

One of the my favorite embellishments right now is Washi Tape. Whether adding a decorative border, a strip of color or creating a layer of it's own, it's an affordable option for adding something special to your projects.

For this card I used our 2014-16 In Color Washi tape. All of the patterns shown below come in one set (together).

To create the panel, simply lay your washi tape across a scrap piece of card stock. Either trim the overhang or allow it to fold over and stick to the back. Due to the slick nature of the tape, I chose to use our new Tear & Tape Adhesive; like the names says you just tear the tape to size (no need for scissors) and the backing will easily peel off. So much easier to use than Sticky Strip and just as strong!

To create the sentiment, I heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder which allows the natural card stock color to show through. Then help it pop by adding ink using your ink pad and a Sponge Dauber.

Just for fun, I added a few sequins from our new Metallics Sequin Assortment. The assortment contains sequins in silver, gold, white, black and clear. I hope this shot allows you to see the clear ones and how they sparkle!
