Around The World

Ready to get away? Or maybe you're just happy to be home during this busy season. Either way, I hope you'll enjoy today's card created using our Around The World stamp set. The layout is based on this week's challenge at Unscripted Sketches. Be sure to visit the US site for additional ideas and inspiration.

The suitcases and signs are fussy cut, but you can save time by simply stamping the suitcases and using coordinating punches for the signs. The "Hit the Road" signs coordinates with our Hexagon punch and the "Away We Go" can be punched out with our 1 1/4" circle punch. Easy, peasy. Makes me want to plan a trip somewhere…. preferably somewhere with a wait staff.

Hello, Lovely Butterflies

It's sketch time at Unscripted Sketches! This one leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Can't wait to see what you do with it :)

My project started with some random die cut butterflies and a tag I had in my scrap box. Add a little DSP and some ink…

I love this sentiment (from Hello, Lovely). It's so sweet and is sure to bring a smile to someone's face. Unless you've been annoying them… then maybe they won't be so thrilled that you're amused. Kidding!!!

Stampin' Up! Tags 4 You Christmas cards

Need a quick card design to send out a few more cards this season? Here's a card based on a recent Retro Sketch (linked below).

The Early Espresso tag is a die cut from our Chalk Talk Framlit set. You could use a large rectangle if you don't currently have this in your stash. By the way, this layout is also a great stash-buster for those remnant pieces of Christmas Designer Series Paper and coordinating ribbon!

Here's a closer look at the tag portion. I made a second card which you can just see on the right; on the very edge of the picture you can see gold sequins in place of the rhinestones. These sequins will be available as trim in our upcoming Occasions catalog. Check back in for additional details!

Stampin' Up! Warmth & Wonder

We're down to the last few days before Christmas and I only just finished sending my cards out this weekend! They almost got switched out for New Year's! Here's one of the last few sent out. You may notice I've gotten a lot of mileage out of paper doilies and the hostess set Warmth & Wonder lately. I may have to put the set away, but at least I can keep using the doilies for Valentine's cards. Huh, almost sounds like a plan to get ahead doesn't it? :)

Stamp Review Crew - Perfect Blend

Welcome to another round of ideas and inspiration with The Stamp Review Crew! This week, our blog hop showcases ideas using the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Perfect Blend. This coffee related set is so fun and I hope you enjoy what we've done with it!

I have two projects to share with you. The first one is a tag for a Mini Muslin Gift bag, this one containing coffee flavored candy. (Project supply notes are listed at the bottom of this post.)

Next is a card created using an idea my mom shared with me: using the cup as a vessel to hold flowers!

The cup was stamped on to the background and again onto scrap paper. For both, I masked off the top of the cup from the sleeve up so that I could have a shorter cup. Fussy cut the one on the scrap paper and adhere over the original using Stampin' Dimensionals so that you have room to insert and layer the leaves and flowers.

Now - on to more ideas!

Supply Notes:

Project One:
Stamps: Perfect Blend, Woodgrain (background), Gorgeous Grunge
Colors: Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake
Big Shot, Framelits - Chalk Talk, 1 3/4" circle punch
Candy Dots, Linen Thread

Project Two:
Stamps: Perfect Blend, Summer Silhouettes, Express Yourself
Colors: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Big Shot, Framlits - Circles, Little Leaves sizzlit, Itty Bitty Paper Punches
Paper Doilies, Jewels Basic Pearls, needle and thread

Stampin' Up! Season of Style US235

It's time for another sketch challenge with Unscripted Sketches! To see more ideas using this sketch, be sure to visit the Unscripted site. You can also post your projects there to share with us!

I still have a few Christmas cards to send out and this sketch worked wonderfully to get the mojo flowing. I created a second version without the Paper Doily, but I like this one more :)

The Designer Series Paper used here is from our Season of Style Paper Stack. A great feature of this stack is that it includes 48 sheets total, with 24 of each double-sided pattern. This makes it much easier to create duplicates of a card, something many of us are more likely to do during the holidays.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas is coming...

So we are down to the last two weeks before Christmas. The calendar is full of school and work events and, I don't know about you, but I'm in need of craft time more than ever. Something about creating a project, whether it be a card or something else just calms the waves like little else.

Although I have several boards of ideas stored on Pinterest, I realized last night that I also have quite a few project ideas stored on my phone. All those hours of sitting in the car waiting for my kids to come out of rehearsal or activities have not been wasted :o)

These butterflies are being used to create a family tree. Each "branch" gets its own color. Imagine how sweet it would be to receive such a gift and how lovely it would look in a frame!

Ok, technically a fall idea... But it's not officially winter until the 22nd. Ha!

Pine one Christmas trees, how cute are they!?!

I wish the photo were watermarked so I could give appropriate credit, but isn't this card cute and easy? If you don't have dies to cut the leaves, consider cutting apart snowflakes...

And one more, just for fun...

It was 84 here yesterday so maybe I find snowflakes more amusing than those who have to deal with the stuff. But it is a pretty (and duplicate card) isn't it?

My apologies for the lack of credit towards those who created these projects. The images are not watermarked and the file name and info doesn't save with the photo (on my phone). But I hope you enjoy the inspiration anyway and I sincerely hope you enjoy some crafty time in the near future!

Oh Hello Pistachio Pudding

This past weekend I realized I never posted the Unscripted Sketches challenge for the previous weekend! Silly me! And it's such a user-friendly sketch, too!

Organizing my embellishment drawer uncovered some odds and ends like a length of ribbon from a package, the last brad in a container and the last Dahlia in another. They became the basis of the color inspiration for this card.

The Paper Doily looked very stark against the backdrop of the other colors. To add a tiny bit of color, I laid it over a Smoky Slate ink pad and gently tapped it with a Stampin' Sponge. (Click photo to enlarge.)  If you prefer more vibrant or all-over color, try using a brayer instead. Enjoy!

Crazy, Mixed Up Love US234

The weeks are flying by and it's time for a new sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches. As I was prepping this post I realized I never posted last week's challenge. Good grief! Where does the time go? I'll get that one posted in the next few days, but until then how about the current challenge?

I've seen a few cards here and there with twine used in whirly, twirly ways. Between that inspiration and the untangling of Christmas lights was born the string of lights for this card :)

Yay! My card for Valentine's day is made for my honey. Now to get back to the Christmas cards I need to make! :)

Don't forget to stop by the Unscripted site (linked below) to check out lots of ideas using this sketch. Our design team has grown within the last two months and I believe you will really enjoy the variety of inspiring projects shared!

The Stamp Review Crew - Festive Flurry Edition

Welcome to a fun new challenge! Twice a month, the Stamp Review Crew is going to work to provide you with a variety of ideas and inspiration using a chosen Stampin' Up! stamp set. As you will see, the Crew members are blessed with a variety of styles and we are looking forward to sharing our creations with you! ON to our first challenge:

Our first challenge features a beautiful snowflake-inspired stamp set called Festive Flurry. Living in Florida lets me avoid snow (it's only fun when you don't have to shovel it), so instead of a rubber stamp set, I chose the digital version which includes 4 stamp images and 4 punches. An advantage to this version is that you can resize the images and, because they are in svg format, they are compatible with electronic cutting machines, too. (And still no shoveling…)

Using My Digital Studio, I created two different projects you can download for free. Just click on each image to enlarge it before saving for best resolution. The first image is intended for use as a background on a phone or smaller tablet. (It may pixelate if you try to use it on a larger screen.)

This second file is larger and the layout switched to landscape for use as a wallpaper on a tablet or computer. Most of us have folders we leave on the desktop at all times: the three blocks are intended for organizing those digital files so they can be easily found. Another option would be to alter this file and add pictures instead :)
*Note: I saved this picture as a much larger file so that it will not pixelate if you use it on your computer monitor. Just click the image to access the larger image.
