It's week 102 of sketches with Utah Divas Int'l. For a complete listing of the Divas participating in today's blog hop, CLICK HERE to be directed to the group blog.

This sketch is great, isn't it? In black and white, it reminds me a bit of Art Deco designs and I had considered just using solid colors and leaving it very clean and crisp. But then I found a beautiful flower from Fifth Avenue Floral sitting on my desk just waiting to get used... and there went my intentions - kinda ran off just like a rabbit!

The flower image was stamped with Versamark onto Shimmer White card stock and then heat embossed with Silver embossing powder. Drops of Pretty in Pink ink refill were then dropped onto the image with a very wet Aqua Painter. The paper curls just a bit, which causes the ink to spread and pool in different areas giving you variation in color on the different petals. (It will flatten out when it dries.) A very simple technique, but it gives beautiful results.

  1. this is beautiful adriana. it's funny how you learn a technique, use it for a while and then put it aside til someone reminds you of it again.

pink roses are my favorite (after purple ones of course.)
