Stampin' Addicts Stop 13 - Vintage Frames

Time for the Stampin' Addicts Holiday Mini Catalog Blog Hop! Woo hoo! If you are arriving from SA or from Kim's site, welcome! I'll be sharing some projects with you, then providing a link to the next stop on the hop. In total, you have 22 sites to enjoy for inspiration and we'll leave our posts up all weekend so that you have plenty of time to see it all. What fun!

My projects today were created using the new Vintage Frames Decor Stencils (page 22). Prior to these projects, I've always used stencils to decorate walls or fabric. This time, however, I thought it would be fun to use the stencil on paper-crafted items, instead. Special Note: this stencil is large! The entire sheet measures 13" x 17" and contains three separate designs. You'll be happy to know that there is enough separation between the designs that you do not have to worry about inadvertently getting paint in an adjoining area.

My first project uses one of the corner designs to embellish a 12x12 scrapbook page. A Sponge Dauber dabbed into Classic Ink brings this design to life. Pearls add just a bit of elegance to a page dedicated to a special Mother's Day event.

Stencils can also help you to make your own patterned paper. Another sponge dauber, this one dipped into Pretty In Pink Classic Ink, adds detail using the other corner design. I used just one "leg" of the design to add a series of lines across the paper.

And lastly, decor for the home. Instead of decorating the wall, decorate something for the wall (or table)!
Use Craft Ink to stencil the center design repeatedly onto a stretched and prepared canvas. Be sure to set it aside to dry so that you don't smudge the ink as it dries. Consider adding words that describe your family, your faith and/or your life to the open areas.

Thank you for stopping by on the blog hop. I hope Kim and I have encouraged you to give our stencils a try; you'll be surprised at how easy they are to use! Next you're off to Carmen's blog - wait 'til you see what she has in store for you!
