Simply Said and After Thoughts

Sounds like a complicated conversation, doesn't it? But no, it's just a silly title for 2 cards created based on our Utah Divas sketch today! (Sketch)
I'm just one stop on the blog hop; to access a blog-roll of participants, please click here to be directed to the UDI site. Otherwise, read on and I'll provide the link to the next stop along the hop.

Card one is all about stamping. Using a background stamp is a great way to decorate the background of a card.  Try adding more than one ink color to your stamp to add a bit of variety to your image. Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Classic ink were used here, but you could also try contrasting colors for a different, more vibrant look.
I stamped the one large image, then cut it apart into 4 separate panels. Each panel was then sponged with Crumb Cake ink to finish the edges. When you try this, you'll notice that the sponging will also make other areas of the image pop - a very nice side effect!

Ok, so this card has a very classic look. But what do you do when you want something a little more fun? You add color!

A lot of color! This card began with cutting apart some  of our Sweet & Sour Designer Series Paper.  The paper had enough going on that it didn't take much to finish the card. A stamped sentiment, layered over coordinating card stock and a butterfly to finish off the center panel. And of course, bling. If it's going to be fun, it has to have bling ;)

If you would like to see either of the cards in better detail, you should be able to click on them and they will enlarge.  By the way, the punch you see used here behind the sentiments is a new offering from our Holiday Mini catalog. It has a great size - can't wait to see what can be done with it!
