Stampin' Up! Ink & Cardstock

3.29.2017

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is our coordinating ink and cardstock. It makes it so easy to put a project together because you know the colors will help it all flow. Here's a quick card I put together to donate recently. It had to be quick because the end of the month (the due date) came faster than I expected!

By the way, with the end of the month comes the end of Sale-a-bration. If you plan to take advantage of the promotion - a good time to stock up on card stock or on soon-to-retire In Colors - you'll want to do so by the end of the day Friday. If you have any questions, just let me know!

Garden in Bloom thank you card

3.27.2017

I owe someone a thank you and can't send it directly to them, so I thought I would post it here :)
Thank you to whomever placed an order last week. (You selected "no contact", which means your name and contact info is not shared with me.) I appreciate you and thank you for helping me remain a Demonstrator. This card is for you!

The images from Garden in Bloom were stamped and heat embossed with black embossing powder. This made it super easy to color in the images using an Aquapainter and ink from the lids of my stamp pads. If you ever have days where you can't seem to color within the lines, I definitely recommend this method! The melted powder does a great job of keeping the watercolor corralled and using a dark powder also makes the colors pop.

Thanks for joining me on my little escape today!

Strength & Prayers

3.24.2017

This week's sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches is a great one. But somehow I still managed to go off track once I started creating. I moved the sentiment over onto one of the shape/place-holders and somehow forgot about putting something there. Oh, well. It inspired me to create. That's good, right? 😊

First, a closer view:

Then here's the finished card:

By the way, if you are looking for a fine tip glue for adhering embellishments, I truly recommend our Fine-Tip Glue Pen (linked below). I've been using this tool for the last few weeks and am so impressed with easy it is to use, the tiny dots you can easily place on your project and how well it works. An important detail is that the cap comes with a fine needle-like pin inserted into it. When you close the cap, this needle fits down into the nozzle and keeps it clear and ready to use on your next project. It's a winner!

7 new items added to Sale-a-bration 2017!

3.21.2017

Surprise!!

FYI - stock for the card tin and glimmer papers has been depleted, so those items are no longer available. Since we make the stamp sets, they will continue to be available throughout the promotion period. Two important notes: the promo ends March 31st and to use one of the items listed above as your freebie, use the code shown here, not the one in the catalog.

Blessings,

Have you seen the chickens?

3.20.2017

One of the Sale-a-bration options this year is the Hey Chick stamp set featuring chickens. There is one in particular that I thought for certain was the imagination of the artist. Slimmer in body, with a wild mane of feathers popping up on it's head. Am I the only one who's never seen a chicken like this before?

Isn't it great? Just makes me laugh every time I see it!

Going to Chick-fil-a will never be the same again!

Adventure awaits with FMS279 - Let's Get Away

3.15.2017

Woohoo! Another new sketch today at Freshly Made Sketches. For some strange reason, as soon as I saw the open space on the middle panel, I just new it needed something with motion. In this case, a little slider!

In case you are wondering, the sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Adventure Awaits. And the cute car (aka punch buggy) is from another retired set, Let's Get Away! Thus the title of this post.  😁 Maybe I should go back to drinking coffee...

Thanks for joining me on my little escape today!

Beautiful You and watercolors

3.14.2017

After about a year and a half of finding it difficult to create anything, I'm finally finding my mojo again. It's a great feeling and it reminds me of the lady in this image below… like I'm about to fly!

* Note: the image (from Beautiful You) was colored in with copic markers. The colorful background was created by first running watercolor paper through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst embossing folder. I then colored in each petal using Kuretake paints with an Aqua Painter. For more ideas on painting the petals, browse through our 2016-17 Annual Catalog. There are a lot of samples using this folder in different ways. Enjoy!
