A Kinda Eclectic greeting card

I promised earlier this week to share another card using the emboss resist technique. As much as I liked the grungy look and large sentiment on the previous card, I really like this lighter more feminine take as well. I hope you do, too!

Project Notes:

  • Let your technique layer remain the focal point. Here a thin strip of Naturals Ivory card stock provides room for an all-purpose sentiment and a resting place for our butterfly without drawing too much attention away from our leaves and wash of color. (The card base and technique layer are also Naturals Ivory.)
  • Sponge extra color along the edges of the technique layer for definition or, if that's too simple for you, consider adding a small border of coordinating card stock to really make it pop.
  • The butterfly was created by layering 2 butterflies from our Bitty Butterfly punch. Although difficult to see in the image, the edges of the butterflies were also sponged to add color and interest.

Thanks for viewing today's card. I hope you are inspired to get your fingers inky! :)
