Maria's holiday workshop

10.25.2014

A big thank you to the ladies who were able to make it to our last Club Meeting last night. As always, it was wonderful spending time with you. And a big thanks to our hostess-with-the-mostest Maria, who went all out for us after a hectic day at work. ((hugs))

Our projects last night were based on projects shared by others on Pinterest. Maria asked for holiday (Thanksgiving and Christmas related) projects we could make and these two were just right for the job. We had a lot of fun discussing different ways to use the box!

So cute and easy - and it begins with a 1/2 sheet of cardstock!

Heat embossing - always a WOW!

Want to join us to stamp? Click the basket below to access my Stampin' Up! website and click to view my calendar of events. We'll be slowing down as we near the holidays, but the Friday Getaway classes will continue. They're a quick class to fit in if you can manage it and we cover a variety of techniques and styles!

Stamp Review Crew - Serene Silhouettes Edition

10.19.2014

Welcome to another edition of The Stamp Review Crew! Today, we are all working with the ever-popular Serene Silhouettes stamp set. To travel this hop from the beginning, simply click on the banner above to access the SRC blog.

I have to admit: I went on vacation and loaned out my stamp set. I thought I'd have this past weekend to play... but now she's gone. Oopsie. So, the following two projects were shared previously; if you have been following my blog for a while, these might look familiar to you. But - hey - we've so much since this set was released, maybe this will be a good reminder?

Did you know there is a size of card called "Gladstone"? It measures 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" (folded). I didn't know this, but it is one of the 66 sizes of cards for which you can make envelopes using the Envelope Punch Board. FYI - this size meets the USPS size requirements for mailing.

Background sponged with varying pinks; stamp and emboss image with white embossing powder. Stamp again using Soft Suede (to coordinate with card base).

This card falls in the "clean" looking category... where most of my cards go. :) I happened to have the sewing machine out on this day and thought I'd give sewing on paper a try.

OK, now ready for some more ideas? Here are the links you'll need to keep groovin':

Stamp Review Crew - Work of Art Edition

10.05.2014

Welcome to another edition of The Stamp Review Crew! This week we are reviewing:

The Work of Art stamp set is a fun combination of images containing 11 sentiments and images best described as 'elements'; not only images in themselves, but things you put together to create other images. If you have just arrived from Betty's site, isn't it awesome how she used that one image to create a camo background? So creative!!  Not sure I can wow you like that but maybe you'll see something you like  :)

If you are starting here and would rather start at the top of the hop, click the banner above and it will take you to the Stamp Review Crew website. All of our creations will also be posted later this week on the group's Pinterest page.

First, I have a little framed object to share with you that is based on a card scene from Suzanne Johnson. Get the sunscreen ready...

Colors: Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight on Whisper White
