Stampin' Up! Chalk Talk, Lines and Framelits

6.26.2014

Stampin' Up! has a new stamp set to add to the "chalk" line up; Chalk Lines is a neat new border set with four different designs (see it below). Here, it's used along with our Chalk Talk stamp set and coordinating framelits!

The Blush Stampin' Blendabilities marker was used to add a bit of color to the pearl, making it a blush colored pearl instead of a vanilla-toned pearl. If you haven't tried it yet, you'll be happy to know that the ink dries quickly and does not wipe off. Isn't that a great way to extend the use of your embellishments?

Products used today:

Stamps: Chalk Talk, Chalk Lines
Project Colors: Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Tools: Big Shot, Framelits - Chalk Talk, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1-3/8" circle punch
Embellishments: Jewel Basic Pearls, Stampin' Sponge
Stampin' Blendabilities (Skin Tone Collection)
Designer Series Paper (retired)
My favorite adhesives: Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Layout: PPA (Pals Paper Arts) #204

6.12.2014

Well, cutting all of my retired Designer Series Paper down to 4" x 6" worked out well! I pulled out a new stamp set I couldn't wait to play with, found a sketch (My Favorite Things) and got to work creating a fun note of encouragement for someone special.

How do you organize your paper scraps?

6.10.2014

What do you do when you have lots of patterned paper, but only a few sheets or portions of sheets left over? I've noticed that my retired paper tends to get put aside and ignored whenever new designs become available. It's a shame... This is good stuff! So today, I'm taking some time to cut them down to 6" x 4" pieces and sorting them by color schemes and/or style. My hope is that I will have a box of ready to go layers and that they will see some love.

Now that I see how much is here, I believe I will also add some packs of ready-to-go stacks to the door prize bag!

What do you do with your paper?

QuinceaƱera invitations in the works

6.03.2014

Psst- Taking a quick break from the assembly of some special cards I'm making. My niece turns 15 this summer and, in a nod to our Hispanic background, will be celebrating with a special party. I offered to make the invitations and wanted to share a peek at how they are coming together.

The girl image is from a stamp set in our Celebrando Creatividad catalog created specifically for this event. I'm happy to say it is also available in digital format, allowing the flexibility of sizing the images and printing them out just right. She is colored in using both alcohol based and water based markers.

Note: on the left side of the image you can also see the card base and a layer with music printed on it. This is also from My Digital Studio, printed out in Bashful Blue - one of her party decor colors. I have to tell you, since I'm making 70 of these invitations, it was nice to be able to print out this layer. I'm not sure I could have stamped that many and gotten them straight!

Break over! Have a great day :)
