Sure is quiet in here...

4.30.2014

It's one of those weeks that is just flying by! There are loads of exciting things happening - and I do not mean the laundry! On Monday, I was fortunate to attend a new catalog premiere with two of the ladies in my downline where, aside from seeing some fun presentations, we were provided with copies of the upcoming catalog. Methinks you will be very happy with it!

But throw this in the mix with a car needing replacing and I have not crafted in days. So I apologize for the lack of posts, but promise to hop back to it and start sharing projects again by the end of the week.

Hope all is well with you and that you are taking the time to 'escape to stamp'!

Unscripted Sketches meets My Paper Pumpkin

4.26.2014

This week's sketch is a fun one. Notice there is space for a title or greeting on the top right, but also a line of text (for example a quotation) running across the bottom of the card. I can't wait to see the samples; how about you?

My card uses a few elements from the March 2014 My Paper Pumpkin kit. The card base, "congrats" wood piece and arrow images are all part of the kit. The word is actually looks like wood when you get it, but I altered it by pressing VersaMark onto it and then covering it with Silver Embossing powder. As usual with this type of embossing, I used a heat tool to melt and set the powder. There was no damage to the piece with this process. Instead of adding a quote along the bottom, I simply stamped and heat embossed these fun arrows which give the impression of moving forward. Although the colors are not right, I think this just may end up being a graduation card for my niece :)

To see additional projects created using this sketch, be sure to visit the Unscripted Sketches website. The post stays up all week and we encourage our visitors to play along and link to your sketch! We will be sure to visit if you do. Enjoy!

Stampin' Addicts Retiring Blog Hop 2014

4.25.2014

Hi everyone! Today a small group of us at Stampin' Addicts are sharing projects made with some of our favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets that are in the process of retiring. We know that many of you keep these sets to use for your own personal crafting, so we wanted to share a few ideas that we hope will inspire you when you sit down to play!

Today, I'm sharing projects created using the super cute kid set Blast Off. Of all the adorable images in this set, the alien is still my favorite!

This one is a little, well VERY colorful:

Well thanks for hopping through my blog. I hope you enjoyed these two cards. Your next stop (depending on the direction you are headed) can be found below:

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Petals

4.23.2014

Are there any colors that challenge you? For some reason any shade of purple challenges me. You would not believe how long it took me to make this card! :)

Tip: When I first colored in the image (from Peaceful Petals), the colors looked too bold for what I intended. After trying a few other coloring techniques, I went back to Stampin' Write Markers and simply added a layer of Vellum Card stock over the image. Voila! Color, but softened.

Entering a Hostess Code on a Stampin' Up! order

4.22.2014

A few customers have commented that they have missed where to enter the Hostess Code when placing an on-line order. Although I believe you can enter the code once you have signed in and are beginning an order, here's another way to do it.

Once you have entered an item (or more) into your shopping bag, click the button to VIEW SHOPPING BAG. It will look something like this:

If you look down in the bottom left corner of this picture, you will see the box where you enter the code. Once you have entered the code, simply click APPLY. After entering the code, you can continue shopping, view the clearance rack and weekly deals, save your shopping back to finish later or simply proceed to check out.

Hope this helps!

US253 Stampin' Up! Happy Day

4.19.2014

This weekend, SarahKaye and the crew at Unscripted Sketches have a new sketch for you to try. If you haven't visited in a while, you are sure to enjoy the variety of samples posted. Plus the blog site has been updated with info related to all of the new Design Team members added earlier this year. And as always, we would love it if you play along and link to your sketch!

My interpretation of the sketch started with some gorgeous patterned paper from our Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper set. I will miss this paper when it goes bye-bye later this month…

Stampin' Up! Timeless Talk Amazing Family En Francais

4.17.2014

Simple products and one technique work together to create a timeless greeting.

This card was created using a paper 'mask', and a few other tools (listed below). New to stamping? Check out how easily this came together.

First, create a 'mask'. This will allow you to leave a border around any stamped images or added color.

Set your mask on top of your card front and stamp a background image (or several smaller images for a collage look). Our En Fran├žais background stamp was used here.

Once stamped, add ink along the edges of the window in the mask; I used a Stampin' Sponge and Crumb Cake Classic Ink.

Remove the mask and you have:

Now it's ready for trimming and adhering to a card front. I also added additional stamped images from Amazing Family (sentiment) and Timeless Talk (phone) in Early Espresso Classic Ink. If you want to try this, I suggest using bold images so that they don't get lost in the details of the background stamp.

Stamps: Amazing Family (w129189/cm129192), Timeless Talk (w126605/cm126607), En Francais (128562/127790)

Stampin' Up! Tag It garden seed packet

4.11.2014

One of the reasons I love going to Stampin' Up! events is because of the projects shared. Walls and walls of projects - oh, yeah! At last year's convention, a cute little pouch caught my eye. With it being spring (technically, anyway - let's forget that it's 80 outside), it's past time to share this little goodie with my ladies. This project, almost a direct copy of the one shared, is our class project for our Friday Getaway this morning.

UPDATE: The original project was created by Paula Wright, a Demonstrator in Utah. Visit her blog to see her blog post.

Did you know that joining Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator right now awards you with FREE admission to this year's convention? (Value $295 US) If this is of interest to you, either click here to sign up or contact me for additional information. This offer is only available while registration is open so you might not want to dawdle...
