Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit

3.21.2014

A special thanks to the ladies who came out last Sunday to create cards using the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit. And to the rebel who chose the Everyday Occasions kit instead :)

Here's a peek at the kit's contents and a few of the finished cards.

Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit (134998) $19.95

My son helped me to create the cards shown here. His only question was to ask when the next kit arrives!

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has several card kits? Not all are shown in the Annual Catalog, so for more info, be sure to Check them out in my on-line store.

My Paper Pumpkin - creating gift bags!

3.20.2014

Stampin' Up! shared information earlier this year about our monthly kit program My Paper Pumpkin and some of the improvements that were in the works. Mentioned at the time were the inclusion of photopolymer (clear acrylic) stamps and the great news that the kits would be beefed up a bit. Well, they weren't kidding! February's kit included supplies for decorating some great gift bags. Here's one bag created using supplies from the kit as well as our Petite Petals stamp set and coordinating punch:

So far, I've only decorated one bag (the one shown here) to hold some jewelry-making supplies I'm donating to someone at church. I think the ladies who volunteer with me were as excited about the bag as they are about the contents! Here's a better look at the bag:

In case you are wondering, yes - you can stamp on the bag. I left it plain in case she would like to reuse the bag :)

Stamp Review Crew Happy Congratulations

3.09.2014

Welcome to a special bonus hop with The Stamp Review Crew! Normally, we share projects based on a specific set from our main Annual Catalog. We're making an exception this time and playing with a set from our Occasions Catalog called Happy Congratulations. As always, our blog posts will remain linked together so that you can revisit the posts and projects at any time. Enjoy!

This set reminds me of lanterns set up for a party. Recently, a hostess asked that I use it with specific colors to create a graduation card for her grandson. We don't want to embarrass the poor guy, but we didn't want boring either so here is how it turned out:

I liked the coordinating gold thread in the Gold Baker's Twine so I thought it would be fun to add that along the top of the card to mimic the main image. But remember, it's for a guy so a bow was not going to cut it. Instead, I tied little knots along the ends to add a little "something" with the side benefit of keeping the gold thread from unraveling. I hope she (and he) like it!

Tip: The little gold dots were punched out of the Gold Foil before the sheet was folder embossed. The Very Vanilla layer hides the punch-outs :)

Now let's see what the others have to inspire you. Have fun!
