Try this two-step embossing folder technique

In class Friday we played with a 2-step embossing technique. The trick is to use one folder as a "stamp" and the other to provide texture.

  1. Ink the first folder on one side. We used the Beautifully Baroque TIEF (textured impressions embossing folder) with Sahara Sand ink.
  2. Place your card stock in the folder and close it. Press your hands lightly over the folder to transfer the ink onto the card stock.
  3. Now place the same  piece of card stock into another folder with a tighter (smaller) pattern and run it through the Big Shot so that the texture is pressed into the card stock. We used the Perfect Polka Dots folder for this second step.

Now you have a beautiful layer upon which to build your card!
*Tip: Consider the patterns of the folders before you start. Here we used the bolder pattern for the ink and a smaller, tighter pattern for the texture. You don't want to have the patterns competing each other or making it look "too busy". The best way to figure it out? Grab some scrap paper and give it a try!
