US238 Petite Petals Thank you card

1.04.2014

Pull out that paper and those fun stamps you've been hoarding! It's time for a new sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches!

With the exception of "something borrowed" this card resembles the old wedding poem. It has something old (the patterned paper), something new (the Petite Petals punch) and something blue (the flower itself).

The flower is made up of 5 layers of the same punched flower. To get this look, hold each petal between your thumb and a bone folder; start at the base of the petal and slide the folder out towards the tip of the petal. Repeat along each petal, gently curling the paper as you go. Curl the first one just a little, the second a bit more and each consecutive layer a bit more until you reach the center flower. The petals on the inside flower curl almost into the center. A pearl dresses up the center for an easy finish.

How-to idea: view a previous post detailing how to create multi-layered flowers using a scallop circle punch.

Hope you like it! What will you do with the sketch?
