Make a stack of cards this Sunday

Tomorrow, Tuesday is the last day to RSVP for our upcoming stamp-a-stack. This class will be held this Sunday, February 3rd, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. Customers, you know how it goes: Choose 2 of the 4 designs and make 4 each for a total of 8 cards. The materials fee is $15 (includes the supplies to make the cards as shown plus a coordinating envelope; does not include adhesive).  Feeling intimidated? Some attendees will complete the cards while they are here while others prefer to get the pieces ready, then hang out with the other ladies, enjoy a few snacks and finish the cards later at home.

Here are the cards we will be creating this time. Please refer to the number and name shown below the photo when you RSVP. Thanks!

1) Apple
2) Circles
3) Bloomin'
Uses a Sale-a-bration set!

4) Eleanor
Although I made these actual cards, most are based on ones shared by team-mates and stamping friends on-line. The apple card, in particular is a CASE* of a card made by Mary Fish. (Love her style!)

*CASE refers to Copy And Share Everything. At Stampin' Up!, we believe that sharing with you - and each other - is an integral part of what we do!

Contact me if you require additional details. Thanks!

Stampin' Up! My Friend

The hello image from My Friend is one of my favorite sentiment stamps. I love the way it scrolls out to the side. Here it is layered over scraps of dry embossed card stock that lay unused in my scrap box as well as a beautiful silhouette image from the same set. And since I don't know how to use purple, the monochromatic look wins the day! My favorite touch? The little tiny pink rhinestones from a flower kit we sold last year. They are sprinkled onto the designer paper and both parts of the sentiment. I can't resist the bling...

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Monthly Kit Program - Paper Pumpkin

So what is Paper Pumpkin?
It's a new program we're starting in March where very month a new, surprise project kit will arrive at your doorstep. It may be a card kit, journal, home decor item or some other original project. All supplies are color-coordinated, measured, cut and ready to go with ink, stamps and accessories!

How does it work?

  • Starting in early March, we'll offer a Try-It Kit so you can try it out for one month.
  • Each kit is designed to give you about a 30-minute creative escape.
  • We ship your Paper Pumpkin on or around the 15th of each month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to receive the month's kit. If you sign up on the 11th, your first kit will arrive the next month. (Sign up March 10th, get March's kit; sign up on the 11th, you'll start in April.)
  • A membership is $19.95 a month and that includes shipping! Your credit card will be billed when the kit ships.
  • Your first kit, The Welcome Kit, will arrive with a clear mount block (our Size D) so you can start stamping right away. (The stamps in the kits are all clear-mount, not mounted onto wood).
  • There is no commitment. Your subscription will auto-renew on a monthly basis, so you can cancel your subscription at any time. Or you can skip a month if you want to.

These kits are a great introduction to stamping or a great "I don't have much time to play" kit. Not only will you have fun with them, but imagine what a great gift they would be for a friend who needs a little time off.

Thank you for choosing me as your demonstrator! If you have any questions about this program or any of our promotions, please contact me via e-mail.

You may have noticed that the projects are meant to be a surprise, so I don't feel right sharing pictures of them here. However, my customers may be happy to know that I have the kits with me. If you missed class last Friday you also missed a chance to see them, but don't worry - I'll carry them with me next time, too!

Mojo 95 Stampin' Up! Extreme Guitar Elements

Updated 2013: The stamped elements shown below are no longer available as rubber stamps, but can be purchased as digital downloads. Visit my store to purchase or visit our MDS forum for lots of tips, tricks and ideas using this fabulous digital design program!

There are a number of sites on the web that provide sketch challenges. One of my favorites is Mojo Monday. They provide a new sketch each week - FUN - and invite card-makers to share their creations. I've never gotten up the nerve to actually share one, but today I figured "why not?". And here's my card.

I just received my new (single) stamp, Extreme Guitar and another set that goes well with it, Extreme Elements. Having 2 boys who are no longer babies and not into sports often made it difficult to stamp projects for them. They both really like these stamps, though. And they like to play Guitar Hero with their dad so I have visions of future scrapbook pages with these goods, too! Gotta love the versatility!

Thanks for stopping by! I invite you to participate in the Mojo challenge or leave a link in the comment section here. Don't be chicken like me... share your work!

Sometimes it's fun just to play around, isn't it? I was organizing card stock scraps (somehow my bins had colors from other groups in it), and then I got an idea. I guess you could say that this card is inspired by watching episodes of the Jetsons with my boys ;)

Stampin' Up! From My Heart

There are some stamp sets that just call to a girl and no matter how hard she tries to resist…. well, you know.

The "hard to resist" stamp set used here is our From My Heart. It has some really nice sentiments and each of them is just displayed so beautifully. (See the entire set below.)

For this card, I stamped the Charles Dickens quote/image three times: twice in Soft Suede and once in So Saffron. The first image was left as-is, except that I cut it out (in a circle). I fussy cut the friendship banner from the second Soft Suede stamped image and adhered it over the original with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I fussy cut the tea pot from the So Saffron stamped image and also adhered it with Dimensionals. It took me longer to choose the paper to go behind it than it did to assemble the image! :)
