Make an envelope into a bag Stampin' Addicts Challenge

At Stampin' Addicts we are taking advantage of a new way to share ideas and inspiration with you! We're posting some of our previous tutorials and challenges with you on Pinterest. One per week, and the person who "wins" each week's challenge gets to choose the one for next week. How fun is that?!

This week's challenge is to make a bag from an envelope. You will love how easy it is to do and the finished bag is just such a great way to give goodies to someone. Check out the how-to video in the Stampin' Addicts forum (<— the link will take you straight to the video tutorial).

As shown in the video, this bag was created using a Medium Envelope (the size we use for cards measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"). Using this size results in a bag with an opening of about 3-1/4" x 3/4". It will open to about 1" wide if you stretch open the sides (shown folded in here). I haven't tried it, but it looks like a good size for packets of cocoa or apple cider… maybe some candy canes? Or how about a baggie of biscotti? So many possibilities...

I hope you'll pin your finished creation on the Pinterest and share it with us!

  1. I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to see the video. I quit it at 3 mins because I was not able to see how to make the bottom. It was completely out of the video frame. Cute idea though.

    1. Yes, unfortunately she went out of frame. But if you listen, you'll get the idea. It's quite easy - I hope you'll give it a try!

  2. The bag is adorable! Love it.

    1. Thanks, Tina! I can't wait to make more and put some goodies inside :)
