Stampin' Up! Card Stock Vellum meets Papillon Potpourri

7.05.2013

Our first project at our June Stamp Club meeting was a fun one! We played around with a two-step masking technique (which I'll share with you this weekend) but we also played around with our Card Stock Vellum. Did you know that this vellum is heavy enough to stand up to heat embossing? Yes - it is!

See the butterflies? These beauties from Papillon Potpourri were stamped onto the Vellum using Versamark and then heat embossed with Silver Embossing powder. After heat setting, we added color to the back of the butterflies using markers to provide them with additional color. Though, I admit, they looked beautiful with just the silver.

The butterflies are easily trimmed with a coordinating punch called Bitty Butterfly. (The larger butterflies in the stamp set punch out with our Elegant Butterfly punch.)

Color the butterflies on the back of the vellum.
The color will show through and the embossed lines will hide any mistakes!
