US213 Core'dinations Owl Birthday card

6.01.2013

Welcome to another fun sketch challenge provided by SaraKaye at Unscripted Sketches! This one is deceptively simple. There's something about that large rectangle that calls for some extra treatment or some beautiful patterned paper. For me, that meant creating a little scene and playing around with one of my favorite paper products - Core'dinations card stock. Lookie:

Sentiment is from our Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set

For this card, I ran a piece of Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock through the Big Shot using our Woodgrain embossing folder. A little light sanding brings out the lighter color on the inside of the card stock. I punched a hole so that our cute birthday owl could poke out to share birthday greetings. The Builder Owl punch punches out all you need dress up the owl (body, chest piece, layers for the eyes, even the little heart on the sentiment); I added a triangle of patterned paper for his party hat.

Our new catalog went LIVE yesterday and I'm happy to report that we now have even more choices of Core'dinations for you. See the options on page 159 in our 2013-2014 Catalog.
