Teeny Animals with Pizzazz aka CD103

What an exciting day! The retirement list comes out today AND there is a great color combo for you to try courtesy of the Color Dare. All we need is an espresso machine and some chocolate and we're set!

Okay, here we go! First, the combo:
Well, lookie there - we have chocolate! lol

And now, here is my "go" at this challenge. The sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Wishes) makes this a baby card, but it can certainly be changed for a little guys birthday or even just a hello.

The heart and circle pattern you see on the left was created using our Heart Pressed Letterpress plate. It's one of the carryover items from the Occasions Mini catalog, so it is still currently available.  I'm hoping to see it in the new catalog because it sure is fun to use. It leaves such a neat, debossed  texture! And, as you can see here, hearts can be used for more than Valentine's Day!

To provide a little extra definition to each layer, I rubbed each edge of cardstock directly onto the Chocolate Chip ink pad, a technique called "direct to paper". To get this look, simply hold the paper at a 90 degree angle and rub against the ink pad. If you want ink to smudge in towards the center of the layer, tilt your paper at a smaller angle. (More "face down" toward the pad.) See the photo below for an image - I know many of us are visual learners!

Thanks for stopping by! To see more ideas using this color challenge, visit the Color Dare site or the team members listed in the side panel. If you decide to play along, please link to your creation so we can check it out. Enjoy!
