Teacher Appreciation Gifts pt2

This week is our official Teacher Appreciation week at school. Monday we delivered snacks (in the cute Fancy Favors Boxes shared yesterday). Tuesday we provided lunch. (Thank goodness they like my Cuban cooking.) Wednesday we gifted note cards (also shared yesterday). Today we will be delivering a personalized box to our teachers; the box contains a bookmark and gift card to a local book store.

The box was die cut using the Big Shot and Box #2 die. Click here to see the step-by-step assembly. (Notes include cut sizes of Designer Series Paper. To find it: Scroll down the page, past the wrapped candy bar.)

To create the bookmark:
  • Cut a length of Satin Ribbon. (sample is approx 16")
  • Thread one end of the ribbon through a jewelry charm.
  • Punch a flower using Itty Bitty Punch pack. Layer under a coordinating button from Itty Bitty Buttons pack.
  • Sew button onto ribbon going through both layers. (Will  secure the charm.)
  • Using fabric scissors, trim each end of the ribbon as needed.
The charms shown here are some I had in my stockpile of supplies from ages past. For a better product (better quality and better looking) I recommend Simply Adorned Charms, available in 5 different sizes.

The charm itself is decorated with layers of the same DSP and card stock used on the box as well as stamped images from Vintage Vogue and Clearly for You.

And tomorrow's gift? Tomorrow's gift is a fresh cup of coffee to kick start their Friday morning. I think the 6th grade teachers will get a venti... it's field trip day.... lol

Thanks for stopping by!

  6. If I had made these with Simply Adorned charms - yes. But I don't think these cheapy ones could handle being opened and closed repeatedly...
