Good Morning, all! It's sketchy Saturday over at UDI and lookie what Alicia has cooked up for us today.This is a nice simple layout, so easy to use and adapt to pretty much anything. I wanted to use my paper from Sale-a-bration and something about this particular pattern made me think of babies. So here's my card:
The stamp set I used is from a past mini catalog and is called Just Celebrate. The elephant is a line art type image which you can either color in or have fun and paper piece like I did. The pattern you see on the elephant is actually the flip side of what you see on the card front. (Isn't it great that our designer series paper is double sided!? Yay - instant matching!!) The saffron ribbon headed off to the right is also one of our Sale-a-bration offerings. And last, but not least, a flower brad just for an extra touch.

Now, probably someone reading this post is going to be upset with me because I used a stamp that is no longer available. I apologize for that.... this set is one of those that I'm keeping in my personal stash even though we don't sell it anymore. I had purchased it from a mini catalog some time ago and unfortunately it wasn't chosen to be included in our Idea Book & Catalog. So just take this as a reminder: when you see something in a mini (or in the sale-a-bration catalog) it really is "for a limited time". Call your demo (or me *wink*) and work on that wish list while the item is still available! :)

I'm very late with this, but while I was updating my blog for this week's Diva challenge, I figured I'd add last week's also. (The sad thing was that I actually made this early in the week.... just got busy and never got around to posting it!) The layout got me thinking of a traffic signal for some reason and I thought it would be fun to put some emphasis on the "go" part. My son Devin is in 4th grade and they just finished FCAT testing last week. They stress over this testing, so I figured it's a good idea to celebrate the survival of it all :)
The card base is ballet blue and I also used card stock in real red, whisper white, basic black and glorious green. Inks: glorious green, summer sun and real red. The sentiment is from Starring You, while the "lights" are from Darling Dots (hostess level 1). I used a 1" circle punch to help create the traffic signal and two arrows from our arrow punch for the sentiment.

Girlie Birthday :)

Here's a fun card made with our Bitty Birthday set. The 3x6 (finished size) card is made of Rose Red cardstock, highlighted with a thin strip of certainly celery and regal rose (punched with our scalloped border). The sentiment is stamped onto barely banana and punched out with a small oval. The images were stamped with these same colors onto Whisper White cardstock.

Another Sketchy Saturday with UDI.Today, I got to play with a new stamp set, Just Beachy, from our upcoming Collections Mini Catalog. I thought it would be fun to use this as an invitation to a beach party - here's my "try"...

The colors used (paper and ink) are Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Creamy Caramel and Close to Cocoa. The edges of all the pieces were sponged with the saffron and caramel inks and a blender pen was used to color in the car and surf board with the same. A small grommet (also from the mini catalog) helps to draw attention to the sun. And a little bit of linen thread helps to even things out on the corners.

Happy Saturday and welcome to another sketch challenge with UDI.

My card today is a good indicator of where I'm spending time these days. The boys started baseball last week and we're already getting into the routine of spending most of our time at the ball fields! This year our team is sponsored by a local diner (Niki's for those of you in the area!) I already enjoy meeting my parents and friends there for an occasional breakfast; but now I love the place even more because they were willing to help us out! Times are tough, it would have been easy for them to say they just couldn't do it, you know?

So the card base is made of night of navy, topped with a strip of really rust on which I have rolled the Classics Stars jumbo wheel. I trimmed the front flap of the card to be 1/2" thinner than the back flap. So as you can see in the 2nd picture, I added a little strip of the decorated rust paper there, too. The "thanks" is from our Outlined for Fun set and the hat is from our Just Baseball set. I felt like it needed a little something else, so I've added a star brad and a little scrap of navy grosgrain. Also, the naturals white card stock was looking a little bright, so I sponged it with really rust and more mustard ink along the edges. Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the dirt at the baseball field - you know... the stuff that is permanently stained on the knees of their pants? How appropriate!

Hoot! Hoot!

Today's card is one of the choices from my upcoming stamp-a-stack on the 22nd. It's a CASE from a swap received by Terry Snyder a demo in Oregon.

Terry's swap (on the left) uses Mellow Moss, Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip papers and inks. We will use those colors as well as an alternate combination of Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip (as shown on the right). Both cards use our Owl Together Now stamp set. Other tools used: tab punch, circle punches and the large oval punch; stampin' write markers (to color in the owl).

Although it's not pictured here, the moss portion of my card slides out so that you can write your message in there. I also punched two slits so that I can slide a gift card in there.
