Today's project is a small treat bag for my hostess Annette. This little bag only holds about 5 or 6 pieces of hard candy, but the larger version shared in Stampin' Success (a magazine for Stampin' Up! demonstrators) holds several greeting cards. I'll be presenting the larger version, with cards, to Annette at her workshop. (This little one is a "thank you for booking" treat!)
To make this bag, cut a 2-1/2" square of cardstock for the base. Score all 4 sides at 1/2"; cut and fold, applying adhesive to help form a small box base. For the top portion, cut patterned paper to 3" x 6-1/2". Apply sticky strip to one long side and one short side of the paper. Gently wrap the cardstock over the base to form the bag.
After that, it's really just a matter of filling and embellishing the bag. Here, I chose to keep it simple with a top tab punched out of coordinating Pumpkin Pie cardstock and a small strip of the same color along the base. I created a small tag by stamping this image from our Hostess Level 1 set, Darling Dots with Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I punched this image out with our 1" circle punch, then backed it with a 1-1/4" punched circle of (you guessed it) Pumpkin Pie cardstock. I punched a 1/8" circle and then set a metal eyelet into the tag using my Crop-a-dile. A strip of Chocolate Chip 1/4" grosgrain runs through the eyelet and then is stapled to the top tab, keeping the treat bag closed. (And candy thieves out! Now I can't eat the candy before delivering the treat bag to her!)
