Sparkle!

Hello! Today's card is one from last weekend's stamp-a-stack. This card has a few steps to putting it together, but nothing difficult - I promise! The main element is a die cut called "sparkle" made by Sizzix (run through the big shot machine). The bauble on top is from Bella, but everything else is SU!

The "happy birthday" message is one of our jumbo wheels. To get it to show in the spots only, I created a mask with inexpensive printer paper. I cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece and punched out various different sized circles. This was laid out over the sahara sand piece of cardstock and then I wheeled over it. (See the 2nd picture below. Note: you want to use printer paper for the template; cardstock is too thick and will not allow the roller to stamp onto the cardstock underneath.) Then I moved the template over just a bit and traced the circles with my white gel pen. This cs was then cut at an angle and laid over my card base (sage shadow with a strip of bravo burgundy at the bottom). I can't seem to make a card without ribbon - looks naked without it! - so a piece of white grosgrain dresses up the side of the card and helps to tie in the white circles.
I hope you enjoy this "different" card! I'll be back to share more tomorrow :)
